Weddings

Dating back to the 9th century, the George Hotel was originally attached to the Abbey and served as a Pilgrims hostelry. With Amesbury church situated next door to the hotel it is the perfect location for your wedding reception.

The main bar and many of the 32 bedrooms retain original features of the building such as oak beams, wood panelling and open fireplaces. The large function room with spacious dance floor and private bar can cater for up to 150 guests buffet style and 100 guests for a formal wedding breakfast. A private dining room is available for smaller intimate wedding parties of up to 16 guests.

The hotel can offer packages tailored to your needs and can recommend everything you may need for your special day, be it a horse drawn carriage, or Scottish Piper – the list is endless. To complete your wedding day the hotel offers the Bride and Groom complimentary overnight accommodation in an impressive Four Poster bedroom.
