Amesbury lies in the heart of Salisbury plain. Nearby Salisbury’s cathedral features the highest spire in Britain and one of four surviving originals of the Magna Carta is displayed in the Chapter House. The nearest train station is Salisbury which is 8 miles away and Bristol airport is reachable under 2hrs via the A362, A36 and A303.

Every Tuesday & Saturday the bustling and historic market takes place selling a fantastic range of arts, crafts, clothing, food & drink. The city itself has a diverse range of eateries and is full of character shopping streets, many of the shops are housed in charming half timbered buildings and nothing is more than a short stroll away.
Longleat Safari and Adventure park – 25 miles
Longleat is a great value for money family day out. It is home to theUK’s Number 1 safari park featuring a new gorilla colony, lemur walkthrough and a giraffe feeding area. There is also Longleat house and gardens, a boat ride, bat cave and a huge hedge maze and playground to explore

Stourhead Estate is 26 miles away and is a perfect day out for everyone. A breathtaking 18th Century landscape garden with lakeside walks, grottos and temples.

With plentiful footpaths, ancient drove roads and country lanes, south Wiltshire is ideal for the outdoor enthusiast. Long distance walkers are well served with theAvonvalley path and The Clarendon way or for a nature theme try Wiltshire Wildlife trust reserves. For the cyclist there is the Wiltshire Cycleway taking in the Counties most spectacular scenery or the Woodford Valley Circuit where you can combine Wiltshire villages with the River Avo
